Eden Lake
Hoodies, Neds, Chavs call them what you will but the little shits will kill you just for fun. A huge chunk of this movie is devoted to just what you can exactly do with barbed wire and bad intentions.

Demons Never Die
A stalker is killing off high school kids who form a suicide pact, meanwhile one of the pact members is planning a mass shooting at a party. This movie is near perfect. The cast, the plot, the acting, the in-jokes (drawing Robert Sheehan as a superhero) the fucking soundtrack, which features my girl Dionne! Lets not forget Chloe was in her video for that song! The whole thing is epicness.

Title : Demons Never Die
Year : 2011
Certification : 15
Starring : Reggie Yates, Tulisa, Robert Sheehan, Ashley Walters, Emma Rigby and Jack Doolan.
Similar too : Scream series, Nightmare on Elm Street series and most teen slashers.
Personal Opinion : Teens again and this time a group who formed a suicide pacts at a sixth form college are picked off one by one. Just came out and here was very good, satirical and gory enough to keep me entertained. Not to mention the stonking soundtrack which i must buy!

Title : Wake Wood
Year : 2011
Certification : 18 (?)
Starring : Aiden Gillen, Eva Birthistle, Timothy Spall and Ella Connolly.

Film 84
Title : 28 Weeks Later
Year : 2007
Certification : 18
Starring : Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Imogen Poots and Macintosh Muggleton.
Similar too : 28 Days Later.
Personal Opinion : Well it’s weeks now and London has been made a safe zone. Unfortunately some idiot decided to let kids back into said safe zone and the little shits do what kids do best, sneak off and bring back the damn virus and now it’s a big old bloodbath again, thanks kids!

Title : The Wicker Man
Year : 1973
Certification : 15
Starring : Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee, Britt Ekland and Geraldine Cowper.
Similar too : Don’t Look Now, Psycho and The Wicker Man (2006 - although it’s not really like this at all)
Personal Opinion : Classic film that twists and turns and shocks over and over again. This has stood the test of time thanks to a loyal fan base. I first saw this on a re-release of the directors cut in the cinema, it was an honour to experience it in such a way given I was born many years after the film was made.

Title : Eden Lake
Year : 2008
Certification : 18
Starring : Kelly Reilly, Michael Fassbender, Jack O’Connell, Finn Atkins, Jumayn Hunter, Thomas Turgoose, Thomas Gill, Bronson Webb and James Ghandi.
Similar too : F and Them.
Personal Opinion : The tension in this film is almost unbearable as it plows through many cinematic taboo’s. The death of animals and children are the main rules it breaks repeatedly, but the ending is also a massive twist which many think went to far.

Film 62
Title : Summer Scars
Year : 2007
Certification : 15
Starring : Kevin Howarth, Ciaran Joyce, Amy Harvey, Jonathan Jones, Darren Evans, Chris Conway and Ryan Conway.
Similar too : There is guess a touch of Stand By Me and Deliverance.
Personal Opinion : I’m not convinced this was really a horror movie. It’s messed up though. I go by the section it’s sold in and where I hear about it from and I first came across this film in Dark Side magazine and found it on sale in the horror section, so 2 + 2 =’s horror. After ditching school (who could blame them) some Welsh teens hang out in the woods. Kinda like when I ditched school expect a psycho comes along and ruins there day.
Film 32
Title : F
Year : 2010
Certification : 18
Starring : David Schofield, Eliza Bennett, Ruth Gemmell and Juliet Aubrey.
Similar too : Eden Lake, The Strangers, Summer Scars and Them.
Personal Opinion : Eden Lake took on the subject of hoodie wearing kids gone wild, but F takes it one step further. We never once see our killers faces, they hunt in a pack like wild dogs, have no names and never speak. It’s quite menacing really and there are some grizzly set pieces like a man set fire to in a bin. It’s very short though at just an hour and 14 mins.
